How we look after your information
Last updated 3 November 2026
Vanaprastha Ashram is a small not-for-profit household in Heathmont. We only collect the information we need to answer you, welcome volunteers and assess applications to live here.
What we collect
- Contact and volunteer forms: your name, email, phone (if you give it) and your message.
- Room inspection form: your contact details and those of anyone sharing your room, your move-in date, your work or support-worker details and weekly income, a few questions about living here, and the identity documents you list or upload.
How we use it
To reply to you, arrange visits and inspections, and decide whether a room is right for you. We may contact your employer or support worker to confirm details, as you agree to on the form. We don't sell or share your information with anyone else, and we don't use it for marketing.
How it's kept
- Forms are emailed straight to admin@vanaprastha.com.au. Nothing you send is stored on the website itself.
- Only the people who manage applications can read these emails.
- Copies of identity documents are deleted once we've checked them against your originals at the inspection.
- If your application doesn't go ahead, we delete it within 3 months.
